My applicant’s link still shows that I’m missing my college official’s report, but they told me they do have it. Still my status hasn’t changed to complete… What could that mean ?

To those of you that have already received your decisions, I was wondering if you could post when you submitted your applications? I submitted mine real close to the deadline, and I’m afraid that it’s going to be a while before i hear from them…

THANKS.

Rejected from SMG
Your application for admission to Boston University has received the careful consideration of the Board of Admissions. We appreciate your interest in Boston University, but I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. An unfavorable decision is never easily reached. Please know that we recognize your strong commitment to your studies as well as the tremendous amount of time and effort that went into the preparation of your application.

This year Boston University received more than TBD transfer applications for approximately 250 seats in our incoming class. This was a highly competitive applicant pool and unfortunately many very qualified students are receiving disappointing news.

Thank you for applying to Boston University. I wish you the best of luck in your future academic endeavors.

Sincerely,

@Max310: What were your stats when you applied for SMG?

hi i was just wondering if anyone was accepted into the school of management yet, transferring into their sophomore year. Also, what your stats are and when you applied. thanks.

Hey just wondering has anyone been accepted in the college of arts & sciences? I applied there and received my decision on friday but I haven’t checked it yet because I still have finals to take and don’t want it to be on my mind.

I got accepted to SMG two weeks ago and I’m currently a freshman.

SAT: 1920
college gpa: first semester i got a 4.00 and I’ll probably get it again this semester… I sent in my mid-year grades along with my application so that probably helped me get in.
high school gpa: 3.8? I don’t really remember

I sent in my application on March 1st.

So I emailed them the other day and today around 11am it said my review was complete. I’ve been obsessively checking Applicant Link ever since, hoping to see a decision. All this waiting is driving me crazy!

I’m accepted!!! Transferring into the college of fine arts. Then double majoring in neuroscience. So excited to go. Though tuition is going to haunt me for years to come I’m sure.

GPA HS: 3.98
GPA College: 3.9
College credit 130 units

My daughter just got this on the ApplicantLink. She got accepted to CAS sophmore class as a transfer but will probably not attend. Good luck everyone.

Guys, I received this

Hello A****,

I hope that this email finds you well. I wanted to contact you regarding your application to Boston University. We received your College Officials Report, however I am requesting that it be completed and resubmitted. The final four academic and disciplinary questions on the bottom of page two were not answered. Please resubmit the form to a school official who has access to your academic and disciplinary history so that they may respond, sign the form, and submit it to Boston University. The form may be submitted via fax or sent electronically from the school.

If you have any questions, I welcome you to contact me.

Do you think this is good news, since they’re asking for additional stuff. I mean if they thought I didn’t stand a chance, why bother asking right?
I’m just so nervous, applying to SMG as a Junior btw.

^Well it’s not necessarily good news to me–just means that they didn’t get some of your stuff. I think it’s more of them not being clingy to deadlines and rules like, say, my math teacher from high school. I wouldn’t read into it much, but good luck!

@ClarkAlum: my god, the deposit is $650?

Haha BU is so expensive. That’s the most expensive deposit I’ve heard of.

Sent from my DROID2 using CC App

$650? Is that fee like the SIR $100 fee for UC schools? Is there a deposit for housing as well?

Hmmm, this thread’s not very lively. Let’s liven things up guys. Where do you guys think is the best place to stay? Warren Towers?

Oh and I’m also thinking of getting a car. Do you guys think it’s a good idea? My dad said he’d get me a Golf, so I ain’t gonna pass up this opportunity but I just wanted to make sure it’s not gonna be rotting by the roadside : /

Oh and I hope they’ve got covered parking spaces for students too, or else the paint’s gonna be peeling after a few months.

So everyone already knows your decision? I havent heard anything. Does that mean I’m rejected ?SGM

@AnfieldMan,
I’m from the suburbs of Boston and know the city and the BU area pretty well. I’m fairly certain theres no covered parking for BU students, however, I’m sure there’s garage in the area, but (if they even offer monthly parking) get very expensive. And honestly, Boston is such an easy city to get around between walking and public transportation, that a car will seriously be more of a hassle and an inconvenience there, and you’ll most likely find yourself never using it.
Although I totally understand wanting to take up the offer for a Golf, its just going to be a waste of money to have it sitting at BU.

@Max310

Thanks for the info mate. Guess I’ll pass up the Golf for something else then : )

Have anyone else gotten their decision yet? I’m applying to SMG and I called BU a last week, they told me I should expect the decision sometime this week. Hope I get it today, it’ll be the perfect b’day present. Yup, I’m 20 today. Guess it’s bye bye to the good ol teenage days : /

Hello, everyone. Do you guys know usually how high the GPA should be for accepted students to BU? Do you think 3.7 is competitive or is too weak?

@Benlu1990

Hey there, I think a 3.7 CGPA gives you a good shot as the average is only 3.54. Of course the average CGPA is not the best indicator but yeah I think you’ve got a good shot there. Which school are you applying to btw?

CAS for Economics major! How about u?
