I am planning on applying to the business schools and was wondering if anybody had any comments on which is better. I've been searching the forums and people have been saying that they are very similar. BC gets around 1000 transfer applicants and admits around 160, and I don't know BU's stats. I'm assuming BU is easier to get into though. Any comments?

I got rejected from BC but got accepted to BU the first time. In my experience the BU business program starts day one, freshman year. I'm not sure how well you'd be able to work yourself into their program since you'd be a year (or two if you're going to be a junior) behind their curriculum.

BC is almost impossible for caucasian males like me, even if you have decent numbers and have unique extracurriculars. They really like diversity it seems.

well, i'm a minority.. so i guess that's good

Being a minority doesn't count so much if you're asian though.

i know. i just said i was in regards to coneofconfusion's comment.

Dont go to BC, they are all liars.
if someone tells u they r from Boston College, they have lied to you twice. Boston College is not in Boston and it is not a college (its a university).

BC is a known as a significantly better school than BU. BU you are in the city, BC you are on the T right outside. BC's sports are better, and campus life - well you have the best of both words: the city and a campus. So, they're comprable, but I know a ton of kids who got in to BU and couldnt get into BC and a few that go to BC and would NEVER go to BU. I like both, but I wouldnt want to live IN the city, I like both worlds.

BC is harder to get into. BU admits 30% of males and 35% of females that apply as transfers. I applied to BU SMG because I think I would fit in better at BU than BC. They have a new fitness facility (opened 04/2005), supposedly the girls are hotter and more laid back (check the myspace 2010 group), it is in the heart of the city (a few blocks from fenway), and I have been told that it is a study hard play hard school.

Is it quick to get to Boston on foot, and how does the student body generally tolerate those of different religious/cultural backgrounds?

Yes, I know it's Boston, but still lol.

"the girls are hotter"? In no way do I mean this post to sound rude/snobby, but that is by far the lamest thing ever, for the main reason that just because you GO to BC doesn't meant you can't go meet girls/date girls/ect at BU. Pick your school based on you, plus, I have three very hot friends that go to BC, and only one at BU. So I would be wary of weird stats such as that. Get your degree from a good school, and girls will fall in line

i dunno, they're both in boston.

I am not saying that I would go to BU just because of the girls. That is pretty dumb. Some people care about a campus and sports teams, I do not care about either. The amount of financial aid given and the reputation of the business school are the main reasons I applied to BU. I was just mentioning the little things that draw me to BU.

You know, its true, when it comes down to it you have to nit pick. I mean, my current school has a sink in the dorm, and thats a huge plus,... i'm not gonna lie, and it's pretty lame. haha
