People seem to have more school spirit at BC. Out of the people that I know that go to both schools, everyone at BC absolutely loves it, but almost everyone at BU hates it or doesn't like it that much. I know a handful of kids that want to transfer out of BU for various reasons.

With BC, you get more of a traditional college life (suburban campus). BU, on the other hand, is located in the city. Depends on what you like and used to (For me, I want to live in a more traditional campus like BC). BC is also better academically (Though BU is also very good). Does anything know the distance between the two school?

BU is ugly...BC is beautiful..BC is a lot more prestigious too!!! They are like 5 minutes apart on the subway.

They're both located along the same T line (I forget the letter but it runs along Commonwealth Avenue), about 20 minutes apart.

Its the E line. I live in Boston. I've always preferred BC, over BU but I guess it depends on personal preference. BU lacks a campus, but it is a good school. My cousin attended BU, and she enjoyed it very much. The one detail that bothered her, however, was the enormous class sizes during her freshman year. She would attend class once a month, and trade notes with her friends. One of them was a lecture with 500 students, and the professor did not take notice of anyone missing. Its not exactly the best thing to do, not to mention a waste of tuition, but she did perfectly fine. By the time she was a senior, her class sizes were much smaller......... I still prefer BC though.

It is definitely tougher to get into BC, but I think that in terms of academics, the schools are very comparable and if anything, BU has the overall edge. Don't confuse selectivity with quality. BC has more school spirit and BU student body is more independent. More "slackers" at BU than BC. BC has a much more traditional campus so if thats high up there on your priority list, go to BC. BU has a more impressive faculty and resources though. All comes down to what you are looking for and whats most important to YOU! Either way, you will be getting a quality education.

Both are great, and I agree with kiddly. In terms of prestige and faculty/resources, BU will beat BC everytime. However, kiddly makes some excellent points about BC. I myself prefer BC because I want a more traditional campus, but you'll succeed at either school

Kiddly sums it up well. BC and BU are both great, but different, schools!

Although jangel's group of friends don't like BU, I wouldn't say most of the students at BU hate it; that's a dangerous generalization and simply not true. Keep in mind that dissatisfied BU students are usually more vocalized and pronounced than happy students!

which one has a stronger bio program

I would definitely choose BC. I know people at both, and the BU people aren't having nearly as much fun. I don't go to BC, but I think it's an awesome school. Great school unity and spirit, which, as some other posters have said, BU does not have.
BU has benefits, like actually being IN Boston, which is pretty cool, but I think I'd take BC's campus with access to Boston over it (in fact I know I would).

bedazzled17, it's the B Green Line that take u pass BU and BC, not the E line. B Line = Boston College as last stop. I know I am right, because I take the Green Line everyday to school.

Whoops, my apologies. I always get the B, and E confused. I am an orange-liner. :)
