BU vs. Emerson - Specializing in Advertising

Hello!

I am currently having the most difficult time ever trying to figure out which Grad school to attend. I have been accepted into Emerson’s Integrated Marketing Communication program as well as BU’s Advertising program. I work full-time and I plan to take classes in the evening. BU’s Metropolitan College offers evening classes for students who work full time, so they can take classes part-time. BU’s College of Communication’s full time program has more courses that the Advertising program in the Metropolitan College lacks and I guess that is because of timing issues – some of those classes in the full time program are only offered during the day. My issue with this is that I feel that with being in the Advertising program through the Metropolitan College, I may be missing out on the full experience that Emerson could provide. Emerson offers an integrated marketing program – combining Advertising, PR, Brand Management, which is a positive but I am not sure if their advertising presence is as strong as the Advertising program at BU. I have spoken to people from each school and I am still having a difficult time making a decision. When it came to speaking with people at BU it seemed a bit disorganized, even when I received my acceptance letter, I was under the impression that I was accepted to the College of Communication but then found out weeks later that I was accepted to the Metropolitan College and even when calling them I really did not receive any concrete information. And to top it off, I have to let BU know my decision by April 25th! If anyone could offer any insight or any helpful advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

Just to add on, I did research on the professors from each school and both schools seem to have professors that are well-connected. But BU seems to have more professors that have held executive positions at some of the top ad agencies such as Hill Holliday and Arnold Worldwide. I think I was leaning towards BU at first because it rings bells, but one of my close friends reassured me that no matter where you go it is what you do there and how you take advantage of that educational opportunity…
