BU vs Northeastern vs Fordham LC

I am lost in the process of determining where I should study next year.

Current top options:
BU (Pursue getting off the wait list?)
Northeastern (NUin program. First semester abroad, then in CAS in Boston)
Fordham Lincoln Center

Other options:
University of Vermont
University of Pittsburgh (Free Tuition because of my dad's job)
Depaul honors(15k Merit / year)
Bard College
Ohio State University (Still waiting to hear back.. pretty confident)

I was really banking on getting into NYU or GW;I got rejected from both am feeling completely lost. My next choice is Boston University, but I was placed on the wait list. What can I do to get off the BU wait list? What if I don't find out until after I have to make a deposit for another school? Realistically, is pursuing BU a lost cause?

Ultimately, what I decided is that I want to go to a school in an urban environment that still has a sense of school spirit.

Also I know that Pitt seems like a great option, but I really feel the need to get out of Pittsburgh. I live in Pittsburgh and already feel claustrophobic with the area. What I have been looking forward to the most about college is getting to know a new city. I'll always keep Pitt as an option but I really can't convince myself that I would be happy there. I know location is only a facet of the whole college experience, but I personally find it to be very important.

What would you say are my best options right now? Where to do I turn? Should I try to get off the BU waitlist? Keep in mind that the things that I am looking for in a college are:
1.) a competitive atmosphere
2.) A new city location
3.) a sense of school spirit

I know that Pitt is a great school and being debt free is ideal. If I go to BU, Fordham, or Northeastern I will be able to afford undergrad, but will inevitably end up in debt if I go to grad school. I don't want to go to Pitt because I don't think that ambition should be comprisable. If I go to grad school then I will be confident that I will be able to find a career that will allow me to pay off my loans. I am planning on studying environmental science/ global affairs undergrad and law in grad school, but that is subject to change.

Thank you so much for your help.

NEU is a great school if you can afford it.

Anyone else? If I still shoot for BU I wont know where I am going to school until June (after graduation)

If you can afford it, Northeastern is better than BU so you should be happy you got in. You’ll have to be comfortable with that first semester abroad, but that is how a lot of students get their foot in the door when they wouldn’t otherwise have been accepted.

Good luck!

As of right now I believe UPitt is the best choice - it has the schools spirt you are looking for (being in a big time sports conference) and you would be debt free.

However, Ohio State would have even more school spirit and allow you to get away - so I would just wait to see how everything falls.

I got into NEU and Chapman with good scholarships. Also got into BU but no scholarship. I live in California. I got into the Mgmt School for all three. I’m planning on pursuing Business Economics and possibly a minor in Engineering. I’m confused on which option to take - I want to make sure I get good internship opportunities and also flexibility in my major/minor selection.
