Okay so I got accepted to both colleges and they are my final two. NYU accepted me into the Liberal Studies Core Program, and BU to the College of Arts and Sciences. Both I would have to dorm and here's the financial aid breakdown.

NYU:$35,550 (grants, scholarships)
$3000 (work study)
$23,410 (loans)
This equals the exact total cost, 61,960.

BU:$46,850 (grants, scholarships)
$2000 (work study)
$8500 (loans)
Total: $57350 the school's total cost is $56,922.

I've wanted to go to NYU since I can remember but I don't know if it would be worth paying over $90000 in loans after. How are both cities and colleges compared to each other. Is NYU worth the cost?

All things being equal, I’d go with NYU. But all things are not equal. Given the cost difference, I’d go with BU. I wouldn’t want to take out the amount of undergraduate loans that going to NYU would require.

The loan line is the one to focus on. Almost 3 times the amount of loans to go to NYU? Not worth it, IMHO. BU is a great school and Boston is a great college city.

You can’t borrow that much on your own in the first place, so unless your parents are taking out those loans and can get approved each and every year for all four years, NYU is unaffordable. Go to BU.
