Hi guys so I got accepted into Pitt and Texas and I am waiting to hear back from BU. I applied to the school of Arts and Sciences for each school. I am a resident of New York, and I am doing NROTC in college. The more I talk to people, they tell me that I should look further into Pitt and Texas (specifically Texas). I am unsure about what school I should attend. I visited all 3 of them and I like all of their campuses. The only thing about Texas is that I feel like it’d be hard for a New Yorker like me to assimilate into the southern culture in Texas.
^I don’t think it’d necessarily be hard. Southern culture is different, but it’s still the U.S. - and you wouldn’t have to assimilate, necessarily. I moved from New York to Georgia when I was 12 years old. It takes some adjusting, but you’ll be fine. Also, Austin is going to be a different slice of the South.
Do they all cost about the same? Can your parents afford to pay for UT and Pitt out of pocket or would you have to borrow money? What are you looking for in a college experience?
I will be on the rotc scholarship so each school is free.
