<p>LauraN: I tend to prefer MIT girls at parties. I have nothing against girls from BU, Wellesley, Simmons, etc. - but I feel that it's much easier for someone from MIT to understand me, without stereotyping, than it is for a girl from some other college. <em>shrug</em></p>
<p>The reasons for BU girls are relatively straightforward:
1. BU is incredibly close to MIT (some MIT frats are on BU campus) so it is convenient to go to MIT frat parties.
2. BU has around a 60-40 female-male undergrad population</p>

<p>It's funny, there was a class on stereotyping here that a cruft was telling me about - and EVERY girl in the class had felt the need to lie about where she went to school (when she was at a bar), yet NONE of the men felt this way.</p>

<p>Um, we already told you. It's because BU has far more women than men, and Simmons and Wellesley have none. So if they want to meet guys, they have to go elsewhere. Like MIT frat parties. I imagine that they also think that getting together with an MIT guy will be easier, because they are nerdy/desperate/unused to cute girls flirting with them, whatever. This may or may not be fair of them.</p>
<p>That's really all there is to it. I don't see how there can be some elaborate theory on this subject which requires a PM....</p>
<p>Who wouldn't be attracted to MIT guys? They're smart, many of them can fix stuff and be very handy, and they have the potential to make large sums of money upon graduation.</p>

Haha! So true! My dad didn't graduate from MIT, but he can fix just about everything (TV ,refrigerator, computer, heck he made them from scratch before) I was always surprised when my friends had to pay professional people to fix stuff. I would definitely miss my dad when I need stuff fixed in college. XP</p>
