Just received this email about decision date:
First of all, your application is complete and in order. We’re giving it a thorough review and plan to post the decision online on Saturday, March 28 at 5:00pm CST.* We know that’s weeks away, but we hope this note assures you that everything’s on track.
*We send out our notifications by mail and you should have it in hand prior to this date. If the post is slow, however, you can check your admissions status online.

I would have preferred the “we dug your essays” postcard.

My D got this email and loved it. Contrast this with Northeastern, who sent her Valentines Day sweathearts candies that said “Choose Us”. I mean kinda cute, but also a little patronizing. I wonder if they sent those to the male students? Probably not.
Excited about the postcard, but it said pretty much the same thing as the email.
@Lizardly that postcard was as like a likely letter from Carleton that I’ve ever heard of. Congrats!
Folks take heart. My D got this email last year around the same time. She ended up on the waitlist but that could have primarily been for an early onset of senioritis in the 7th semester where here GPA did dip a little. If your GPA has not dipped, stay upbeat about getting in. We loved this place when we visited and it is a fabulous college. Enjoy and best of luck to all of you.
I received neither an email or a postcard. That doesn’t seem like a good sign. Especially since the email appears to be primarily informational.
