I was taking the SAT when I noticed that one of the answers from a previous section on my answer sheet wasn’t bubbled in correctly. When the next section began, I quickly flipped to the previous section and bubbled it in. The proctor didn’t kick me out of the testing room or confiscate my test. She probably didn’t even notice it and if she did, she probably would have told me. However, I have a feeling that she might report me after I’ve taken the SAT without me knowing about it. I don’t think any of the other students in the room noticed either because when the test was over, I didn’t see any of them talking to the proctor.
Perhaps she will turn you in because you did go back to a previous section to change the answer. She should turn you in because you violated rules. Setting caught is not the issue. You cheated and may have forfeited your entire testing because you cheated. For future reference, earlier answer sheets are done. If you made an error that is life.
OK, so you cheated. This isn’t your first test, you knew it was against the rules and you chose to do it anyway.
What’s your question?
eta Forgive me if that sounds curt. I have patience for just about anything but cheating.
Yes I understand that what I did is not allowed and I understand the consequences of that. I do want to know will College Board inform you if your test has been invalidated or will you find out about it on the day the scores are released? Also, is the proctor not required to tell you if you’ve been caught doing something you’re not supposed to do.
BTW, this was the first test that I took.
