Hi, all! I was admitted Early Action to Ohio State Columbus campus for Fischer business school, and just got the physical letter today.

When a OSU rep came to my school earlier this fall she told my guidance counselor and I that anyone with the numbers listed for the “National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents” would automatically receive the $12,000/year scholarship.

From the website, it says requirements are 28 ACT/1260 SAT and top 40% of class. I asked also what they do for schools which do not release class rankings, and she said they approximate based on school data.

I got a 33 on my ACT and my counselor says I am within the top 40%. Also, I am from CT.

Now I am worried, though. I specifically did not apply in-state to UConn because of this scholarship offer, and I am yet to recieve any notice of it.

Is this true that, because I have the necessary numbers, I will definitely get the Buckeye Scholarship? If so, does anyone know when I will hear anything about it?

When I called Admissions about the same scholarship, they said that the notice on receiving the scholarship follows the Acceptance notice by a few weeks.

Remember that you can stack Merit aid on top of it and with your stats I think you should also get at least another $2,000. My S is in the same situation and it will probably be the deciding factor between OSU and Purdue.

Congrats on your acceptance, my son got his letter today as well From what we were told by Admissions, the Buckeye Scholarship is strictly by the numbers. I don’t think you have to worry with an ACT of 33! I have read elsewhere on this site that the scholarship notifications go out in March, so don’t stress if you don’t hear before then :)

Yes the Buckeye Scholarship is strictly by the numbers, so you will get it. Son didn’t get notified until March though, so you may not hear until then. Congratulations!!
