I am a white student considering to apply at Bucknell, but I am a little irked by the fact that it is around 80% white. I just enjoy seeing many races come together. I’m okay with the 80% white stat so long as there’s no racial clumping. Can any current or former Bucknell student how integrated the minority population is with the rest of the campus?

My D graduated last year and often felt the same way. She managed to meet and get involved with a diversified group of students.

She was an independent and an RA. She knew many students from POSSE and Community College Scholars (BCCSP).

BU is trying to diversify and is getting better each year.

Have patience with others and know that what you put into every new experience is what you will get out of it…most students are not initially outgoing on any campus…it takes T-I-M-E getting to know others…but with persistence and having a sense of being open minded you will probably be surprised at how many new people you will meet…and that’s the key…if you want to meet new people you have to go out and be with those folks…eventually you will find that most people are alike-once you get to know them…it’s very easy to judge people that go to Bucknell by the way they dress or look…once you get over that hurdle you realize most people are very friendly on campus and are open to meeting others…it’s all about having the right attitude…best of luck…(a good club where you can meet a lot of new people is in Bucknell’s DO-RAK Club {Do Random Acts of Kindness} cool club-cool people…check it out
