<li><p>Market Street is the main place where most BU students go to since it’s so close to campus. With many restaurants, places to shop, the school bookstore, and a campus theater, there are always plenty of people down there. Once it gets colder there aren’t as many BU students going down there, but it’s always nice and busy in the Fall/Spring.</p></li>
<li><p>For a pretty small school, the athletic teams get a pretty good fan base. I’m a huge sports fan, and am at a lot of the sporting events. Basketball nights always get the biggest fan base too. Plenty of people do intramurals too, whether you played that sport in high school or not. Intramurals aren’t too time consuming, and it’s always enjoyable to make a team with some people you’ve met.</p></li>
<li><p>Greek life is pretty large here; I am not in a fraternity but I know a large amount of people go Greek. People in fraternities seem to love it, but there’s still plenty of other things to do around campus on the weekends. ACE (<a href=“http://www.bucknell.edu/student-affairs/student-organizations.html”>http://www.bucknell.edu/student-affairs/student-organizations.html</a>) is one example, which is a group that plans activities all throughout the year. Honestly, I don’t really see much “elitism”.</p></li>

Hi! Thank you so much for answering these questions! Would you give any info about recruitment for the sororities? Is it so insane that no one sleeps and some girls don’t get bids at all? Or is it inclusive and most people enjoy it? Also, I have heard a lot about engineering and accounting for job placement post grad. Would you say that finance is equally as popular/successful for job placement and quality of education as the accounting program? Thanks for the help!
According to my son who is in a fraternity at Bucknell, the sorority rush process is way more intense than for fraternities. Apparently it’s pretty stressful. That being said, I think every single girl who lived on his floor freshman year that wanted to be in a sorority, is now in a sorority. It just may not have been their first choice. Not so for the boys. There were several on his floor that ended up not getting any bids.
Sorry I can’t answer your question about job placement in finance and/or accounting.
She now lives in Boston, not where she is from, and still regularily sees Bucknell friends. She has also met Bucknell alum through her previous job and subsequent job search. It has always helped her.
'Ray (I am an alum too
@Bisonfan26 Hi I was wondering if you could tell me what delivery method Bucknell will use to give me my decision. I applied EDII so will they send out a letter, an email with a link or will it shownbup some where in my mybucknell portal? Thanks so much!
We toured in the spring the college of engineering day. My daughter really liked it. She is attending the Engineering Camp the end of June to get a deeper dive on the campus and professors, because the camp is run by actual engineering professors! yea! She is very anxious about her schedule for next year, and what classes the average accepted engineering student has taken. The SAT scores and the recommended classes are for the university at large, and she believes, and probably rightly so that the college of engineering stats are probably higher than the average for the university as a whole.
She is in AP Physics 1 this year, will be taking Physics C next year. She is taking IB Engineering Design next year, and I guess her question mark is should she take AB or BC Calculus next year…she has honors Pre-Calc this year. She is expecting, regardless of how well she does in calculus in HS, that she would retake the first level at college because several individuals, including a current teacher who is a former practicing engineer, said that AP Calc (even BC) is vastly different focus than Calculus for engineers. She doesn’t have a single soft-class in her schedule next year, and has a major project due for her IB STEM Career Academy program. Do you think not taking BC would be a detriment? Other question is AP Physics C better than AP Physics 2? Is it advisable to consult the professors while she is at camp? Or would they not really know how admissions views things?
