What time do decisions come out? Is it the 14th at midnight?
I was just accepted! For those interested in my statistics:
- unweighted GPA: 3.81
- weighted GPA: 4.42
- ACT: 29
- took mostly honors and advaned placement classes
- took 2 college classes per semester at a university
- did not play sports, but was involved in a few clubs
- volunteered at a local soup kitchen frequently as well as a couple elementary schools
- my essay was 10/10
hi what do I do if i never got a second email telling me about my PIN and stuff to login and check my application status? I applied regular decision.
Contact the admissions office @tomato17. Looking forward the the fourteenth!
30 ACT, 4.0 GPA. Lots of extracurriculars… thinking i have a good shot
@realperson2990 decisions come out on the 29th according to the website. I think the 14th was for EA.
Ah, shame. I don’t hear from most of my colleges until late March, seems like they don’t need to take that long
Are anyone of you invited to apply for presidential scholarship?
Just got my invite for the Presidential Scholars program. Not too hyped for these extra essays but exciting news nonetheless! Anyone else invited too?
I did. Does it foreshadow an acceptance?
Apparently since I already qualified for an academic scholarship, I can’t obtain any more (According to the Bucknell website, only one academic scholarship is given per financial aid packet). Therefore, I hope my arts merit gives me 20,000 per year (the high end) instead of 2,500 (the low end). I’ll be real salty if I only get 2,500 when I maybe could have qualified for the Presidential Scholars program had I not applied for arts merit lol
Can anyone tell me how the invite for the Presidential Scholars program is communicated (email I guess)? If willing, what your statistics are. Finally, did you think you would qualify for some type of financial need, or is the Presidential Scholars program need blind and just merit based? Thanks in advance if willing to reply!
I am sorry I don’t have stats but both my daughters received a letter in the mail inviting them to apply (they may send emails as well but there were definitely letters last year and a couple years before that). The Presidential Fellowships are merit based; if you receive one, it will be included as part of any need based aid you may receive. In our experience, it appears Bucknell uses them to attract students at the top of their applicant pool (regardless of need) who they don’t want to loose to other schools.
Anyone know when Presidential Fellow applicants find out if they were actually selected or not? Is it just when admissions decisions come out?
You will receive a glossy folder in the mail with your acceptance letter, financial aid package (if any) admitted student day info and a separate letter inviting you to accept the fellowship. On admitted students day, there is reception for those offered a PF where you can speak with the director of the program, current professors and administrators who work with the fellows on their projects and the PF students themselves. it is a great opportunity to see the types of projects the students work on.
Does anyone know what percentage of applicants offered to apply to the Presidential Fellows Program are offered admission? I know, btw, that in previous years about 25% of PF applicants get it.
In other words, is this PF application a likely letter?
Can anyone tell me if the Presidential Fellow Program invites are via email or regular mail? And, if you get one, have you formally been accepted to the school? Obviously would foreshadow you will get acceptance. I thought RD acceptances don’t come out for a while.
I got an invite via email, and (after the deadline for applying, of course) received a letter in the mail with a formal invite and a brochure about the program. The deadline has already passed for applying.
If you get one you are unofficially accepted (you will get in). The mail letter also said that this year 30 students will actually be selected to have the fellowship, though I don’t know how many were offered to apply.
I applied for both the Presidential Fellows and Art Scholarship, can I not win both?
