Bucknell vs Macalester

So this is my situation: I have been accepted at both unis and I cant decide between them both.
At bucknell I have been awarded a presidential fellowship, which means that on top of my classes I get to work one on one with a professor on a project that interests me for my 4 years there. I also will be expected to meet the guests that come to the uni. It is quite a prestigious scholarship that is only offered to 80 people in view of getting 20 actually doing it. The condition is I maintain a gpa of 3.2 and commit 6-8 hours every week to the research(however, i do get payed for it)

At Macalester I do not have that scholarship but i would join the honours programme(provided i have a gpa of 3.5) in my third year, which is basically the same as the research part presidential fellowship at Bucknell but only for my final 2 years.

I am an international student and I have managed to get such great aid packages from both unis that money is not an issue in deciding between both unis.

I want to major in econ and I have a very keen interest on development econ. I want to go on to a good grad school and probably end up working for a multi government organisation like IMF or World Bank.

I am having an incredibly difficult time choosing specially for i recieved the presidential fellowship from Bucknell (had i not got i would have picked mac) and thus any input that would help decide between these two amazing unis would be would be incredble.

any comments?

I would look at both schools course catalogs (typically they are online) and see if one school has more classes/research opportunities in your area of interest than the other. Both are excellent schools so you can’t go wrong. M is located in a mid-size midwestern city and Bucknell is in a pretty quiet part of PA if that makes any difference to you.

Macalester has a reputation for having global perspective. Kofi Annan graduated from Macalaster in 1961. Don’t know about Bucknell. US govt stats say 13% of Mac’s student body are from foreign countries. Bucknell is at 0% with 5% unknown.
