Building 1516

As a recently accepted transfer student I was told that the only dorms that weren't full were Building 1516 and Brown Hall. I picked Building 1516 and was just wondering what the overall feel is like. I plan on going out fairly often and rushing a Fraternity, also how far away is everything from the east campus village. Thank you and Go Dawgs!

If you’re a transfer student, then you should focus on your education and utilizing University of Georgia’s resources for after graduation. There’s nothing wrong with having a little fun, but you have to keep a balance. You’re not a freshman, so don’t act like one. Go look for student organizations to join, and go look for internships for your major.

Or else maybe another university would better cater to your needs. I’m not trying to be rude, but it’s something to think about.

Building 1516(now named Busbee Hall) is a popular choice among students. Brown Hall, located on the Health Science Campus is more geared towards transfer, upperclassmen and graduate students. I think Busbee Hall would be a better fit for you. How far away everything is depends on your major and your needs. For example, many of the science classrooms and labs are on south campus.

@halcyontimes I understand what you’re saying about school being first, but I’m trying to get a college experience too as I am a community college transfer but from out of state so I will only be a sophomore. I do plan on balancing social and school lives, and you are right about not acting like a freshman, since I am older and paying for school myself I understand that. But thank you for your response, it is appreciated. (Sorry if that sounded rude, didn’t intend for it too)
