Building a list

Hello everyone, and welcome to yet another session of, "Please help me choose some colleges". Let's get to it.

Needless to say, the whole college research game is a bit overwhelming, which is why I have turned to you guys for some help. I am interested a college (public or private) with a good English Major, preferably one that is bent towards writing. I wouldn't mind minoring in TESOL or TEFL either, so that is a plus. Other than that, the only other "requirements" per se is that it has a study abroad program to Japan (as I plan to teach English there after college), which I am finding out is incredibly common anyways.
So, what are some colleges I should research? Currently, I am looking at University of Chicago (probably can't afford it, but am still going to apply), Truman (love the idea of their 5 year masters), and Webster University. I might be interested in Washu as well, need to do some more research on that.
I am a senior, not very much extra curricular or sports. (I have a job, if that counts for anything.)
GPA: 3.8
ACT: 31
Edit: Course load is all the AP and DC offered at my school except one. Its a small private school. Also in NHS.

Suggestions of good schools, whether reaches, matches, or safeties is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Edit again: A few good Christian schools would be nice as well. Any with good reputations for English Majors?

Just midwest, or looking elsewhere? What size?

Truman is definitely a safety and (IMO) a darn good one.

U of Chicago will a reach and it sound like you have a safety, so you need matches/low reaches. Kenyon is supposed to be excellent for writing although most schools are going to have strong English departments. Hamilton might be a low reach and Middlebury a reach—both potentially interesting.

@lynxinsider: I am open to anywhere in the country, really. I am from MO, so Midwest would make it easier, but I have no qualms with going out of state. As far as size, I would prefer a smaller campus, but again wouldn’t brush-off a great school just because it is large.
@annasdad: Yah, the more I look into it, the more I like it. No TESOL, but the five-year master’s is incredibly tempting. I am visiting there this weekend, so we will see what I think of it then.
@Hitche123: Thank you very much! I will check these schools out.

Thanks all for the suggestions, and I am definitely open to more.
