Building CR Passage

I'm just trying to separate them so it's easier to track our answers..

when the author uses "organism" what does she mean?
self personal, deepest feeling or timeless entity?

what does the author suggest in lines __?
Architects should use history
some other answers, my mind is kinda fuzzy, i didn't choose the above though. I thought it was inferring too much from the passage since she didn't directly say that

what argument could be used to go against the author?
urban buildings were usually filthy
farms used groups of men to create buildings

i realllly didn't like this passage so I don't remember too many details, but I didn't think it was that hard though...can anyone else supply more?

Organism = Comprehensive + timeless entity

Against author - Factories were originally designed for worker's safety, NOT for historic aestetism.

What is the passage contrsating?

I said two differing things with being effected by environment.

there was an answer choice about people wanting to enjoy nature, and she directly said that in the passage, about people not getting to enjoy enough nature...

I took some tips from someone who got an 800 on CR many times and he told me to make sure to go directly back to the passage and be able to circle the answer, so i'm not sure....

How did she talk about paragraph 2? gratification or admirable?

this one was probably the toughest on the test.

my favorite was "shoddiness as a result of conscious planning"

I got the same answer as Neb154.

How did she talk about paragraph 2? gratification or admirable?

I got admirable. I wasn't sure though. Urgh...I hate ambiguous answers.

Organism= timeless entity

Passage contrasting two diff ways of building a community? Or something?

No, against author was that urban people used to live in crappy, cheap buildings. The trick to that one was that it asked, which of the statements about people in the PAST would contradict the author. I almost didn't see that part ^_^

shoddiness as a result of conscious planning was right.

One of the questions had an answer that buildings today estrange people from their surroundings. Was that the right answer?

No, against author was that urban people used to live in crappy, cheap buildings. The trick to that one was that it asked, which of the statements about people in the PAST would contradict the author. I almost didn't see that part ^_^

Dang....I didn't see that. CB sucks.

Yeah, I got that the buildings estrange the people from their environment or something like that.

i think i switched the shoddiness answer to something else at the last minute... anyone remember the other answer choices?

The question was how does the quote (including how they refer so something as "design life") show the author's point. But I forget what the other answer choices were.

oh yeah... i think i switched it to the one about aesthetics at the last minute. dammit.

I got all the same as Kristina. :)

Yayyyy. I love you :)

there is a question having the answer "blah blah enviormental energy"..someone remember?

Not sure, but I don't think that one was right.

something about how buildings should be built. I remember there were some choices about funtionality, aesthetics, i can't remember anything else. How many questions were there from this passage...I have very faint recollections.

There were a lot of questions. Because it was a big, fat passage lol

just to clarify, not everyone had this passage, right?
i certainly didn't.

what were some of the questions in this one?

bump. bump. bump.
