Buisness schools at UDUB & running start

Hi so im currently a Junior in high school. I do running start. I’d like to do something with business when i graduate and go onto the business schools such as milgard and foster but i’m not sure yet. I am debating on either going for the associate’s in business or just a general aa. Please help. Do i need to do the buisness associate for me to go into buisness school or can i keep taking classes for my aa? Thank You

If you have the grades and stats to apply to a 4 year business school with a goal of earning a Bachelor’s degree, the BA/BS degree gives you much more opportunities and mobility in a career than a 2 year AA degree.

Foster is a highly ranked business school and very competitive to get into as a freshman or as a junior transfer. I would think Milgard (UW Tacoma) would be okay. Foster has more West Coast or perhaps national recognition than Milgard.

I just made a college confidential account to respond to this, so that’s a thing. I’m a freshman at UW Seattle, Foster Direct Admit so I also know a bit about what I’m going to say. If you have the resources (eg. 4 years of time, sufficient money to get to the first quarter of college, no prior commitments to a dying relative, and haven’t signed up for the military), there’s no reason not to apply to a 4-year college and Foster in particular. I am here on scholarship, it’s freaking amazing that almost all of my costs are covered by need-based aid and Foster specific scholarships for academic standing and my situation. I’ve been talking to other people who run Foster admissions and other DIrect Admits, the two things everybody has are the academic qualifications and some prior business-related experiences. For me, that was remodeling my house cheaply and managing landscapers - very diffcult and rewarding work - while for others it was placing high in DECA or something as different as doing sneaker resale on Ebay (that guy was making several grand though, so it was significant for a high schooler in his free time). Academically speaking, we’ve all done some AP/IB/Running Start and gotten a cumulative GPA of 3.9+ in HS. I personally came in with 1 year, 2 quarters worth of credits because of how many APs I’ve taken and how well I’ve scored. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me and don’t be afraid of applying here - Foster is one of the best things that’s happened to me and worth every second of second-guessing, insecurity, and fear associated with my application process.

You know, I’m not sure that I answered your question. I don’t know about 2-year degrees, that wasn’t really an option for me because I wasn’t doing Running Start.

Make sure you take advantage of summer internship opportunities. Apply early since internships are very competitive. S, a recent graduate of Foster, had internships with high tech companies and a Big 4. He was offered a position with the high tech, but instead chose to work at the Big 4.
