Growing up in a Indian house mostly all of my uncles and parents told me to become what ever I want but I always said doctor. Now I'm a senior time has come, I feel like with all the Asians in the medical department it would be very hard to get In Medical school! My grades are a 93 gpa weighted ap bio I'm taking this year I really am not a big fan , some aspects reallly interest me but all the plants and super deep structures of membrane are boring.. I have a 83 unweighted average atm. It can be better if I tried..

Point is. Is buisness a good major?? I was thinking hospital manga gent/ sellin medical equiwnt to get that medical aspect in there as well. If you know what I mean.. But my cousins are also telling me to major in finance opposed to buisneas administration I was thinking, they say finance is very good.. Please tell me if jobs are available for this majors

And I really don't want to major in just bio, I feel like if I do pre med that would be very hard.. And I also want a business learning cause my dad owns convienience stores I would one day have to take over

Relax! You’re still at high school. You need to focus on getting into college first :)

The med school application process is very stressful for everyone. Many people who consider medicine never even finish their pre-med requirements. If you don’t apply, you’ll never get into med school. No matter how brilliant your grades are.

You can’t worry about other people and their applications. You can only influence your own application. Focus on that white coat dream. Work hard. Get diverse volunteering experience at college to really see if you can handle the people side of the profession. This is your chance to become the doctor you’d want to look after your own family and friends (figuratively speaking).

Remember that you don’t need to major in biology to get into med school. As long as you have the pre-reqs and the knowledge for your MCATs, you could be a business major if it would fit in your schedule. Indeed, you’re better off doing the major you find most interesting as your GPA is crucial to your application.

Finance is more the more specialised banking/investment side of business. Business admin is a more general how a business works major. A jack of all trades- master of none. Both would also you to work within a hospital/medical sales in the future far more than a biology degree.

Heck, you could do your MD and then go into the business side of medicine. No major or profession can pin you down to one career unless you let it.

As for your family business, you might not be the best person to run it day to day although you’d own it. Maybe a family member or someone else will have the skill set and you could employ them? However, any general business major including finance will stand you in good stead.

I thank you for replying
