<p>I know there are a bunch of Bulgarians lurking around in these forums and I decided to unite us all and create a thread so we can see where we all got in. So please post where you've been accepted/rejected/waitlisted and where you plan to enroll this fall.</p>

<p>Hey, I am Bulgarian, and made a thread about Bulgarians, but only one guy replied (haha we're from one class). Now I'm glad to see there is one more Bulgarian here. About the topic: I am planning to enroll at University of Richmond :)</p>
<p>Hey!!! I'm so glad someone replied to my thread - at one point I was pretty desperate. I am failry certain that there are quite a few Bulgarians lurking around in these forums. So don't be shy and share your expreriences with the rest of us. I've enrolled at Yale, yay!</p>

<p>Another Bulgarian here! I'm considering St. Lawrence and Colgate but I'm not sure I'll get a full scholarship and we all know how capable BG citizens are of paying $35,000+ per year.</p>
<p>Do you have any info about universities which were generous in financial aid to our fellow Bulgarians?</p>
<p>Usually Ivies are very generous with financial aid and also top liberal arts colleges like Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona, Middlebury etc. etc.</p>
<p>^ Agreed. I got full rides at Colgate, Wesleyan, and Cornell. Include these 3 schools as well.</p>
<p>What scores did you have to be granted a full fin aid at these colleges? 2300+ SAT I would guess.</p>

<p>Flame, I got low SAT I scores (2130) for the unis that I got into. My SAT II scores (800, 800, 770, 780) were much better and were more reflective of my academic abilities. However, my point is that SAT really isn't everything. The thing that really compensated for these mediocre scores was my transcript. I am a full IB candidate and was predicted 45 (which is the maximum). And as far as I am aware the IB is probably the most challenging thing out there (don't mean to boast or anything, this is my honest opinion).</p>

<p>I think it matters a lot. I had only a 102 TOEFL, a 1960 SAT, and a 2160 SATII's. I believe my essays and application questions got me into those schools. And yes, my GPA was really high, and I took the hardest courses available.</p>

<p>No. Yes, the school I go to is private and even though it is not american it is british (same thing really). Believe it or not your school's reputation/type does not play such a big role in the application as you make it out to be. The fact that I come from a private school might have even 'damaged' my application. Famous schools and Ivy unis are trying to dispel the myth that the only people who go there sit in leather chairs, with tweed jackets, smoke pipes and discuss the evils of the proletariat. I'm sure that this clique does exist in these places, but universities are deperately trying to diversify their student body to include students from ALL sorts of socio-economic backgrounds. So, if you are coming from a public school, that may actually boost your chances.</p>
<p>And yes I think that the TOEFL score will be well received. It will obviously not be deciding factor in your application but will befinitely help you :)</p>
