So what did people think of Bulldog Days?
Pro: The energy there was amazing, saw two good profs, great quads once you get off the street, good food, lot of resources, students very friendly and bright.
Con: Elm Street right through the heart of campus, plus other lesser but still busy streets around campus(hurts the "feel" of a campus, and noisy too), and a few streets at night made me a little queasy.

What do others think?

Anyone going to Stanford admit week on 4/28? What have you heard about Stanford? How do you compare it to Yale? Some say Stanford is tilted too hard toward sciences and tech. Anyone have any hard info about that? Thanks.

I came to Bulldog Days around dinner time on Monday. I hung out with my host but I never met any other pre-frosh. How did you meet other Bulldog day participants?
Can you tell me what activites you did on Saturday night? The schedule only said "various activites" at 11PM and I didn't know what they were.
athlonmj..in another thread you said your host was great ...what did he do that made him so great?
The campus was amazing.

bulldog days convinced me. as the tshirt that i got says, "everyone loves a yalie!!"

mrma, i already knew a few people, and we went out and just randomly started talking to some fellow pfroshes around campus. our hosts took us out and told us where to go. basically all of yale traipsed back and forth from party to party as they were each busted by the cops. they were chill, nothing too special, lots of drunk upperclassmen, but it was fun just hanging out with real yalies and getting to know fellow pfroshes.

the parties were amazing. I went to about 3 of them and I was one of the drunk pre frosh screaming in the street. Yale is definently my top choice now but i am still going to the stanford admit weekend.
Do any of you guys remember me??? I am the kid whose foot was run over by a van and was rushed to the hospital the first day.

I just introduced myself whenever I sat next to someone at an event, got bored at a party, etc. And I have a few old friends there, so they told me where the parties were. Loved it! I sat in on a rehearsal, saw a random Davenport Pops concert, popped into the British Art Gallery, etc. Gotta say, I wasn't nearly drunk enough to appreciate the L-Dubs party. So many pre-froshes, so little space. SAE was fun until the cops showed up though. And everyone I met was friendly.
Anyway, I'm sending my acceptance in today. Hopefully I'll see most of you guys there next fall.

i went to a few lectures, many student panels, the improv comedy show, the Ldub party until it was busted by cops, and some other random party in Saybrook... the way i met other prefrosh is by introducting myself or sitting next to them at some event...my host and her roommates were kind enuff to direct me to the parties and I also met some freshmen and juniors...it was definately fun although yale could have been more organized in uniting the class...i know MIT had icebreakers at their campus preview weekend and that's how i met most of the people there. in any case tho, after Bulldog days I'm probably coming to Yale (80%)
on a more random note, do any of you guys know if yale is any closer to picking the next handsome dan??

I thought it went very well athena... were you in it? I think the person that set up the sound could have done a better job with the feedback though.

Does anyone remember the strike? I actually forgot about it until just now. I think it made my trip a little more exciting, and anything that can horrify my parents like that is a plus.

...and I do NOT want to go back to high school tomorrow. It will be a terrible letdown. :(

Bulldog Days was (were? hmmm) amazing. I thought my mom was going to get me the "Everyone loves a Yalie" shirt, but she didn't. Oh well, I got the huge book on Yale architecture instead. :D

How long is it until August 26th...? (winces at the thought of high school)

Oh, and Lindsey, if you end up at that school up north after this, you're crazy and that's all there is to it. ;) No, really - good luck with your decision. I know it's a difficult one for you (even though it shouldn't be).

newt ~ yup, i was in the pops concert (principal second violin; i'm also one of the artistic directors). i agree with you about the sound... there was one song in particular (don't remember which one) where there was some pretty awful stuff going on with it. ick. i just thought i'd ask how it sounded from the audience's perspective, because all of us in charge of the orchestra were also playing in the orchestra (or, in john's case, conducting), so it's a little hard to know what was good/what we need to fix/etc. for next time.

glad you thought it went well, though :-P it was certainly fun to play/organize! think it's worth making it an annual bulldog days event (if we fix the sound problems)?
