Bulldog Days Housing?

Hey guys, just a question regarding Bulldog Days housing. Around what percentage of admitted students request certain current Yale students for housing during Bulldog Days? How do you feel it adds/detracts from the experience?

I know a few current Yale students who have offered to house me. They were being really nice for doing so, although I'm not exactly even that close to them. Moreover, would those who've been to Bulldog Days think it'd be better to leave it to Yale to randomly pair you up?

Lastly, it'd be cool if anyone who's been can share some experiences! I'm an international student currently on the fence about taking the long trip there for it! Thanks everyone :)

It really doesn’t matter too much who you stay with because you’ll hardly be in the dorm with your host anyway. you’ll be too busy exploring, making friends, having fun. I’m a junior and I still love BDD. You get to meet your awesome future classmates, talk to upperclassmen who are dying to make you join their organization/convince you hardcore to come to Yale. It’s just so awesome. I can’t wait!

I agree with sgtpepper08. It doesn’t really matter which one you choose. All Yalies are nice so it’s not like being with a complete stranger is awkward. Plus, you really won’t spend that much time in the room so it doesn’t really matter.

Bulldog Days is amazing!! I had to miss it last year because of something I had going on, so I’m really excited to get to relive for real this time. My Bulldog Days, I met a couple of people randomly who have surprisingly enough turned out to be my best friends at Yale. For example, on a science tour, I randomly met this kid from Hawaii with whom I just struck a conversation. Fast forward 13 months later, he and I are fraternity brothers. I also met my (now ex-)girlfriend during Bulldog Days. It always astounds me to think that people who you think you were randomly meeting can actually become such influential people in your life later on.
