So overall, plainly put, I do a lot of things with my flute, but more concerts/volunteer than competitions. I really like to write. I do a lot of teaching at church, especially creative writing and have been teaching kids how to write since I was in 6th grade. Languages are very easy for me to learn. I speak 3 fluently (English, Korean, French), and am learning 2 more (Spanish, Chinese). I'm thinking of majoring in Comparative Lit and/or International Relations. And, my dad's a pastor, which means two things. I have to work a whole lot just to pay for my own lunch because we don't have much of an income. Second, I spend a lot of time at church, helping out my parents and participating in church activities.

Oh I first thought you were talking about University of Georgia Bulldogs, who got killed by Alabama Crimson Tide today in football.

Anywho, I think you have a good shot at all those schools, especially Princeton since you are a legacy there. But... maybe you should add one more safety?
Good luck!

UMich - yea!
Yale - Don't ask me. I'm going SCEA XD And I don't want to tell you what I think for my own self confidence XD jk It's a reach (are you applying for their music program? Then that would be a high-reach)
Princeton - low reach (legacy kids are so cool ;_; )
Columbia - nope
UPenn - low reach
Brown - reach
Georgetown - don't know
Dartmouth - low reach
Cornell - low reach
Tuts - wha? I dunno
UChicago - high match
Northwestern - match
Carnegie Mellon - low reach

Oh woops, i meant Tufts.
& no I'm not applying for music

lovely chances.

definitely up the IIC score though :)

I think you are in at Princeton, Brown, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Tufts, UChicago, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, UMich

Yale, Columbia, and Penn are all hard to say... but I think you will definitely be one of the more competitive applicants for those schools! I expect you will get into one of them.

^ i agree. Good comment!

NeoEpisteme: You can never say that someone is definitely in at Princeton, Brown, and Dartmouth!!!! They're way too selective and unpredictable for you to say that!

Hi JJK!

Your UW GPA of 3.86 is pretty good, and you have challenged yourself with 7 APs, which is about average for the top schools. Based on your courseload, you must be a true linguist! To speak several languages is an impressive feat. Not many people can do that. Your SAT of 2290 is very strong. With the exception of your IIC Math score, you did very well on your Subjects. Just bring up your IIC the next time you take it, because a 620 is pretty low for IIC. Aim for a 650 or 700+. Based on your ECs, you seem to demonstrate a passion for music --- talk about it in your essays! College admission people like to have people who are genuine and real. Reveal your passions. Release your inner monkey in your essays.

Overall, you're a pretty strong applicant who has worked very hard in HS. You should be proud of yourself.

Chances:
Yale: Reach (yes they're reaches for everyone)
Princeton: Reach (legacy will help)
Columbia: Reach (you went there ... so make your "Why Columbia?" essay more personal)
Brown: Reach
Dartmouth: Reach
UPenn: Slight reach
Univ of Chicago: Your stats are in line with what they're looking for ... but I'll tell you that they'll base their decision on your essays.
Northwestern: Match
Georgetown: Match
Tufts: Match
Carnegie Mellon: Match
Univ of Michigan: Match (OOS); Safety match (IOS)

Good luck!
-ab2013

Of course no one is in the Ivies for sure, but that's just my opinion! I really do think the OP will be receiving acceptances from the schools I listed. You are right though, it's never a sure thing at those top universities. It's likely that one or more of the school's I think she is in at will deny her.

Thanks guys!!

bump! :)
