I'm headed to USC next year as a spring admit and am a little confused about the ability to be moved up to fall enrollment. The admissions packet states that a "few" will be bumped up but does anybody know what the actual number looks like? I'm hoping that a "few" is more like 100 rather than 5 lol.

They don’t really know until they see what the accepted enrollment is for each major and also the total demand for housing. Last year they had more students accepting than they expected and so were overbooked.

My son was bumped up a couple years ago, and I don’t remember ever getting a definite number on how many were bumped. Based on the reports on this forum and facebook, it seemed like there were at least 20 kids moved up, so that probably means quite a few more in the general population. But that was a year when kids got off waitlists all over the country in pretty large numbers, so it all depends on enrollment trends.

how do they choose who gets bumped up? is there a ranking or is it random or whoever turns in their card first like first come first served?
