My son was bumped out of his writing seminar choice. He had a list of 6 choices after that, but how do you know whether any of those are free? Also his Gen Chem was changed to 8AM from 10. His recitation was also switched to 8AM. Who does he call to find out what he does next? It is a bit confusing.

He does not have to call anybody, and what he does next entirely depends on what he wants to do next. You can leave it how it is, or change times around on August 3rd. Nothing you can do before then though.

Wrong. Time changes can be made in August but if you are bumped for a class the next time frame to request a class is the 27th.

what if you didnt get bumped from any classes but got a different section that you dont want. Can you do that on July 27 or do you have to wait until August 3. Also if you signed up for a class that has a pre-requisite that you didn’t know about until after you signed up for the class, can you drop and add the correct one on July 27 or do you have to wait to do that until August 3, too???

I don’t know about your second question, momof2ky, but the answer to your first is you have to wait until Aug 3. As far as I know, you can only fiddle with your schedule if you have a BUMPED next to a class.

that’s what I was afraid of. Can you waitlist for a section on July 27? or only on August 3. Thanks for the quick response!

you can check right now to see what classes are closed or open, just sign into oasis.

but even if class/section is closed right now that you want, chances are that its going to open up at some point between july 27th and the last day to add/drop classes, just monitor oasis closely, and get on waiting lists
