My son is registered for this course. He said the first class was pretty good and he’s looking forward to the rest of the semester  Kudos to Rice for taking a chance on Bun B.

Sorry-- but this decision strikes me as a little silly. Is this a graded, for credit class?

Jym, this may give you a clearer picture of Rice’s decision.

Patsmom – what have you heard?

Thanks, Otto. That helps. Still… interesting…

And what would life be like without interesting news about Rice!

It is a graded course, 3 credits.

Jym, which decision are you referring to that’s silly – the decision to double the class size or the fact that the class is offered at all?

According to the list of Spring 2011 courses online, there are 187 students registered in the class with a max of 200.

“The course also seeks to broaden Rice students’ awareness of life beyond the hedges… And we offer our students an opportunity to be in the conversation with the larger Houston community – and offer an opportunity to the larger Houston community to engage us.”

I really look forward to hearing some student feedback a little further along.

Why stop with students. I would like Bun B to chatter up a bit in this forum. I would like that myself.
