Bunch of questions!

Does Penn discourage attaching resumes?

Should I list all my additional activities (things I spend maybe an hr on each week but no leadership or significant awards) in the additional info section?

Should I explain my main extracurricular further in the additional info section? Or is this overkill?

Does submitting earlier increase chances @ interview if there are limited interviewers in your location?

If I retake the SAT in January, do I have to report that I’m doing so on commonapp? Or can I just send it in only if I do well when I get the scores in February?

So I know these are a lot of questions (some might be dumb). The answers to any or all would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone else wants to hijack this with their own questions, it’s cool (just to let you know :))

Thanks in advance!

Penn does not discourage attaching Resumes THAT ARE NECESSARY. If it is redundant information, it's probably not recommended.

List activities in order of most important/most catchy to least catchy. Penn doesn't pressure you to fill all the spots. You don't need to. Three really involved extracurriculars > 7 uninvolved extracurriculars.

That is overkill.

Yes, but only to an extent. Penn doesn't take interviews seriously. Most people don't have access to an interview. It neither harms nor helps your acceptance/rejection process. Rather, it helps YOU understand what Penn's about.

You MUST report it. Otherwise, Penn wouldn't know. They would make the decision without waiting for the score. If you had a 2100 and didn't report that you are taking one in January, and you get a 2400 in January, the decision would have already been made. Penn's decision making starts quite early.

nope, unless it's useless information such as winning a superlative for being able to drink the most shots..

only if you think they're important enough to include

overkill

yes, but interviews don't count for that much anyway. i didn't get one, and i'm from philly. it didn't exactly hurt me.

no idea.
good luck!
