Bundle Textbooks vs. Unbundled

I’ve looked back through past threads and read discussions on this but am still confused. Maybe I just need to wait until we get down there this weekend and ask the Supestore. Figured we would go with son this first time to buy most of his books since we will be there - subsequent semesters he is on his own. He is in Biology 118 - there is a Choose One category for this class and it lists three different options - hardcover, ebook and looseleaf. We get those choices. But then it also has the option of the above three in bundled or book only.

1) What is included in the bundle? So you need those items?

2) Are used books in fairly good shape? If we order to pick-up this weekend and don’t like the condition can we return and pick a different one when we pick-up?

3) Do most people get looseleaf or hardcover (he doesn’t have a reader or ipad so that is not an option)? I would think if you went with looseleaf it would be better to go new.
