Merlehay, I totally used no self-control—watched and watched and watched. It was just me. And when I got to those last 3 episodes (yesterday) I cried a LOT. It was so well done and just stunningly devastating.

And yes, Supportive, the scenery is amazing. Makes me want to go to Australia. My niece and her hubby and two adorable kids actually live there, so we’d have a place to stay if we went…

Bunheads is growing on me- just watching the latest episode on the DVR and love how they’re showing how overwhelmed Michelle is. Boo’s mom with the “magic purse” full of grape juice boxes and cookies is the greatest!

I really felt the Gilmore Girls-esque charm with the last episode of Bunheads. It’s starting to make sense to me and become more plot-driven. It’s not just a showcase of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s classic fast banter anymore.

The show is ok but we’d probably never watch if Sutton want on it. They’re wasting her just like Smash wasted Brian D.Arcy James. She’s not sang, barely danced more then a few steps and anyone could have played that role. It is disappointing

I agree I would like to see more dancing/singing from her…do you think they will pick up the pace on that once her character is more established? Maybe they figure people will lose interest if it’s simply seen as a vehicle to showcase her broadway talents?

I haven’t seen Bunheads but it’s not unusual for talented Broadway actors to be cast in roles in tv shows where they have no opportunity to sing or dance. In fact, it’s the norm, rather than the exception, and other than those who are on Smash and Glee, every actor I know who has gone on to tv roles, has done so in a dramatic role. Many actors are fine with this, and a show, even a short summer season, can end up being more lucrative than a long-running show on Broadway.

Season 3 of Dance Academy is supposed to begin shooting in September, which means it will be shown in Australia starting in February- people there post links (I use eu-links and Sockshare or Putlocker from there) by the evening following the initial showing. Given the “constraints” of the “school’s 3 year course of study” this may be the last year, or they may decide to follow the dancers into the professional world. An interesting aside concerning Dena Kaplan who plays Abigail is that she came to the US to study in the Alvin Ailey School and landed a role in a Broadway musical. Visa and Equity problems arose, so she couldn’t take the job, returned to Australia and was immediately cast as Abigail.
I’m still wishing to see more of Sutton Foster’s dancing talents showcased on “Bunheads”, but just saw that Ep 10 (next Monday- the final of the current season) will have quite a bit of dancing, from the girls and from Sutton!. The article also strongly suggested that the series has been renewed.

Even at least one of those in Glee, Matthew Morrison, doesn’t get that much musical time. If you really want to hear his talent, listen to the soundtrack of Light in the Piazza - you’ll swear that he was native Italian!

Yes, Chedva, Matthew doesn’t get the chance to be auto-tuned as often as the kids do. I agree that he was very good in LITP. I saw him in the show more than once!

SPOILER ALERT: The finale tonight was fantastic!!! And I loved the dancing, the dream sequence at the end, and the fact that it was all so unexpected. I am very, very glad this show is coming back. Well done!
