Burgeoning administrative bloat at LAC's - "Somewhere Between a Jeremiad & a Eulogy"

filling out forms through a portal to alert the Dean that a student is in trouble instead of picking up the phone rings true for overburdening administrative process.
It’s too bad. The beauty of a LAC is its intimate tight-knit community where relationships matter most.
I have one at PC and one at Berkeley.
At Berkeley, advising is much like a bakery…you pull a number and wait your turn for any variety of staff who don’t know you to advise you.
Wouldn’t want to see this at a LAC.
