Burned out for the SAT?

So I'm a Junior who'll be taking the SAT this October, and I'm feeling a bit burned out.

I took it once in January last year, and I got a 1780 (540, 580, 640) (cr, writing, math)
During the summer, I studied A LOT with various stuff, but mostly RocketReview.
I took tests in the Blue Book, and consistently got around 2200. I went for a week where my parents had forced me to take this ****ty SAT class that I really had a bad time with. That wasted my time also, threw me off (maybe), and I didn't practice that week. (I say this for coincidental reasons). Then miraculously, the next two practice tests were horrible for me. I didn't even finish them, because halfway I knew I was doing so horrible. But I did in the end (not perfectly timed) and got around the 2100's.
Anyway, I used to be really happy, since I had boosted my CR up to like the 700's and math to 800's. But my CR has gone back to about 600, and now I'm simply feeling burned out.

I tried to practice like I did with the CR, but it's just not happening anymore. When I had first read RR, it was awesome, yet now, it's not so exciting... I've been practicing (by taking practice CR tests 25 minutes a time, or attempting to at least), but its not really helping me, and tests always reflect the same 600

WOW! I 've never seen this scenario before. With that said, i don’t know what to say. How many tests have you consistently scored 2200 in the BB? And you say that now you score in the 2100’s? I guess that’s pretty normal-to have fluctuations in scores. Because you feel burned out, just don’t practice anymore and take another practice test after you feel like you’ve relaxed enough. I’m sure your score will bump back up to 2200.

Since you’ve obviously got the skills to get high scores, your self-diagnosis of burn-out sounds right on (although there may be other things going on in your life, too, that are distracting you). I don’t blame you for being sick to death of it, especially if you’ve been doing hard-core prep for a while.

At this point, any additional practice isn’t going to make much difference in the next week before the test, so cut yourself some slack. Maybe do a practice section or two this week, maybe hit some vocab, but otherwise, just rest and get your energy back up. If you go into test day feeling crummy, you’re not going to do your best! You’re already well prepared, so a last minute cram this week will just make you more exhausted. Just focus on how glad you’re going to be next Saturday afternoon when it’s all over.

Take care and best of luck.

Thanks for great replies!

That sounds reasonable, that relaxing is the best step at this point.
I think I’ll stay low on practicing, review some random tips/stuff, and that’ll be it.

Much appreciation.

I don’t think taking a break/coming back would be an option with a little over a week left. Whatever you decide to do, good luck on the test!

Maybe reading some hard articles will help with the CR. I know that if I stay away from high-level literature for too long, it takes me a while to get back. Articles are short enough to actually sink your teeth into without wearing yourself out.
