Due to I been taking other medication that interacts with pain medication and antibiotics I can’t no take antibiotics or pain medication right know I have to wait 3 weeks I m scared it will get worse in 3 weeks :frowning: but I have to wait can anything seriously happen to me for burning my throat how long to heal ? ? What can happen in the future this giving me panic attacks :frowning:

Stop. Deep breaths.

You went to the doctor. He gave you meds. If they’re interacting with other meds, then you NEED to call the doctor, let him know, and ask him to prescribe something else. He should be aware of any meds you’re taking.

I know this whole “adulting” thing is hard, but that’s what you do when you have a medical issue: you take it to the pros. And that’s what you did. So follow up, and take your doctor’s advice.

Thanks

Let us know how it goes, OK? And it’s late now, so why not call the pharmacy and see if they can recommend something OTC that won’t interact with your other meds?

Yes I called but that’s the only thing they can prescribe and I m so afraid of side effects and drug interdiction I will just wait for the Claritin to clear up of my body and then I will take the antibiotics

OK, how about home remedies:

Strictly speaking as a mom: lots and lots of cool-- not cold, but cool-- liquids. Nothing too acidic-- no OJ, no tomato juice. Try to keep the speaking down. Try to stay healthy; I would imagine that a persistent cough will just aggravate your bad throat. No alcohol-- that includes mouthwash.

As far as I know, burns pretty much heal themselves, though you do want to be careful not to get them infected. So you treat the symptoms. Take OTC meds for pain relief.

I agree with the above suggestion of drinking cool liquids, which reduce inflammation. Put some ice in your water.

Avoid soups and other hot foods. Skip the hot tea and coffee-- drink them iced instead. Enjoy some ice cream.

Avoid irritants like acidic foods (tomato sauce or salsa, tomatoes, citrus) and acidic drinks, including carbonated drinks. Don’t eat scratchy things with sharp edges, like chips.

You could ask the Dr. about using an over the counter sore throat spray containing phenol, e.g. Chloraseptic. (Personally I hate the taste but my H and D use this and say it helps).

Mucous membranes heal pretty quickly, so hang in there!

How are you feeling?
