I was accepted to UCF In November for Fall 2012 but I'm just getting around to applying for the Honors College. I wanted to know if there is a chance I could still get in? I have a 28 ACT score, 4.5 GPA W, and I am sending two letters of recommendations, one of where I am president of a Youth Leadership Group, and the other one where I am Vice President. I'm hoping this is enough but I'm unsure. So if any of you have gotten in with my similar scores please post so I can have so hope! Lol

The Freshman profile 2011 for the BHC was…

31 ACT
4.2 GPA
1387/2046 SAT

So you’re above average for GPA but below average for ACT. The average ACT for the entire general freshman class was 27 by comparison.

You’re fine. i just sent in my application ~3 weeks ago and got a reply last week saying i was accepted.

4.15 GPA
1920 SAT
7 AP Classes
Wrestling 3 years
NHS 2 years
2 Letters of recommendation from AP Calc and AP Physics teacher.

I wouldn’t be worried if I were you.

You should be fine. My son and his friend just declined their acceptance into Burnett and they will be going to UF. My son’s stats, 4.2, 1920 SAT, 31 ACT, top 8% of his class, awarded Pegusus Gold. Too bad no scholarship money at UF.

^^^But with those stats definitely Bright Futures…

He probably means from the school itself. UF doesn’t give out nearly as much scholarship money as UCF.

Ah alright thanks guys. I’m sending my app tomorrow. I got the Gold Scholarship too so i’m hoping that they accept me!

What are my chances for Burnett honors college so far… I graduate in 2013
GPA unweighted 3.5
GPA weighted 5.47
SAT 1180
ACT 27
and I have tons of extra curr.

During my senior year what would suggest I do to improve my chances

What is your weighted GPA on the normal scale? (Like extra .5 for honors and extra 1.0 for AP/Dual Enrollment.) I’d retake your SAT/ACT though. Is bright futures still a 28?

Yes it is on a weighted scale out of 6.0 ive taken all honors classes and 5 AP and will be taking 6 duel enrollment classes this upcoming year
28 is bright futures
