BURNETT HONORS COLLEGE

Ds submitted application request form online. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to mail an application? If you were accepted, what where your stats?

Hi Lurdes777,
I believe I received my Honors application within two weeks of requesting it. I turned in my application a couple of days before the priority deadline of January 15th and they notified me of my acceptance that following week

My stats were:
SAT: 1370 M + R, (1990 total, CR 570, 800 M, 620 W)
ACT: N/A
GPA: 4.0 UW/ 5.16 W (I’m not sure what my recalculated UCF GPA was)
Rank: 5/154

  • I had two great letters of rec: one from my awesome NHS advisor, and another from my physics teacher that I’ve had for several years.
  • I feel like my personal statement was one of the best essays I wrote throughout all of my other applications.
  • 210 hours of community service.

Extracurriculars:

  • Key Club (treasurer, vp)

  • AP Stats

@michaelo7890 Thank you, I requested a week ago, waiting. Can you tell me what was an essay question?

I do not remember or have the exact essay question anymore, but I remember there was 2 to choose from. One question had a quote to talk about, which I chose not to do. The other question was along the lines of what person or incident molded you into who you are today. The Honors application sattes that the response should be brief, but also enough to show who the person is behind the strong acadmics. Mine was around 350 words.

Anyone applying to Burnett?

Good luck, Lurdes! I am giving it a shot, although my SAT scores are quite discouraging in comparison to the 1400 M+CR average, and I’ve never taken the ACT. Everything else, I believe, is up to par, but I think the Burnett Honors College puts most of the focus on test scores; I’m not holding my breathe, but I would really love the smaller class sizes more than anything!

Hi, today checked application status,Deferred until April 1st.

Wishing you the best. How long did it take for you to receive a reply when you mailed back the application?

2 weeks

Anyone accepted yet?

Oh my this response is late, but I was accepted two weeks after I applied and here are my stats:

SAT: N/A
ACT: 30
