bus. admin and economics fallback

if one student aims for bus. admin and fails, and fails again to get into the economics major, what do people usually fall back to as the third choice?

Can you be rejected from economics? I didn't think that it was capped.

It is capped.

Hmm, interesting. By that point maybe those that got in it for the money study something they like (instead of something that is "practical").

I was originally going to apply to Haas and did many of the prereqs. Now, for personal reasons, I've decided against it and my top choice is Econ. If that doesn't work I'll go into PEIS (political economies of industrial societies). But it's only because I'm interested in the field. It may not be something you'd want as a backup. Also, by your 3rd semester you'll probably know if you're good enough for the Econ major. So you still have time to think about it.

Just looking around the L&S majors page, I see:
Econ, PEIS, Operations Research Management Science ("ORMS," from the IEOR department), and Applied Math.
