Bus Econ Rejected

Anyone?

GPA:
Pre-Reqs Completed:
Pre-Reqs In Progress:
Extracurricular:
Program-TAP, honors, etc:
Work Hrs:

GPA: 3.01
Pre-Reqs Completed: all but one
Pre-Reqs In Progress: creative writing class (in my case Psych of thinking)
Extracurricular: NONE!
Program-TAP, honors, etc: TAP
Work Hrs: no job

I did get into geography tho…

gpa 3.6 (junior xfer)
doing last pre-req right now (math 1b)
ec: none really, gym
no program, IGETC complete
part-time job

gym ?

So where are you guys going instead?

I saw someone w/ a 4.0 and all but 1 preq denied for buz econ on another thread-

Missing any prereqs = automatic rejection for bus econ.

GPA: 3.8
Pre-Reqs Completed: All
Pre-Reqs In Progress: None
Extracurricular: President of AGS
Program-TAP, honors, etc: None, not offered at my CC
Work Hrs: 15

■■■

daaaaaaaaaang supa. try an appeal?

President of AGS combined with a 3.8 use to be my prototypical bus-econ admit. Not anymore I guess. Tough luck Ramga, going to UCSD?

Damn… tough luck indeed. How were your essays?

GPA: 3.94
Pre-Reqs Completed: All (2 econ, calc 1-3, 2 accounting)
Extracurricular: School math tutor, volunteer…
Program-TAP, honors, etc: None ( I guess that was the main reason I got rejected)

I will be appealing, I plan on calling them Monday to see if I can find out why.

I personally felt one of my essays was stellar (the personal achievement one), the other was so-so. I had also completed a bunch of extra “intensive” courses like Calc III, Calc-Based Physic Series, (all with As) and was taking D.E. I thought that would somewhat set me apart, but I guess it wasn’t enough.

And I don’t have any clue where I am going, did get into UCSD, but I may go private. It sucks being rejected, but life goes on and it may be for the best. Also who knows, they may accept me after I appeal (though I’m not 100% I’d want to go after being rejected).

I don’t understand how some of you didn’t get into UCLA. I have a 3.93 GPA, some EC’s, no tap, good essay, and got in. The 3.94 really surprises me.

cgee…MAN, what the hell? Almost perfect GPA with all prereqs completed and still didn’t get in. Looks like this year’s admissions is brutal for those without TAP…

limelight, I know it sucks since I worked really hard to maintain my GPA :(

Now I know how tough it is to get into UCLA, especially Business Econ major…

Not to mention that only the few tops can get out of the pre major and get into the actual major…

So what do you think you’re gonna do now cgee?

I’m still waiting for Cal Econ, but I don’t think I have a good chance getting in :(

If not, here are my options:

1.) UCI Business Econ: probably minor in accounting as well

2.) UCSD Management Science: probably won’t go there since they don’t have accounting minor

3.)UCSB Business Econ-accounting: not sure…

Right now, I guess UCI would be my top choice and many of my friends go there also

Hopefully, I could do well over there and get into my dream grad school two years from now…

Any of you can share your decisions on where to go?

humm.i’m almost the same with you cgee. 3.94 gpa, 67 units finished in 1.5 years, intense course load, lots of ECs, work 15 hour/week, good essays, n got rej. from bizecon.
i’m intl stu is that why?
it sucks. i guess i would not like public school like ucla that much from now on. they are too impersonal, which is a nono in the reviewing process of APPLICANTS. come on, we are human beings who are trying hard to express ourselves in our applications, not machines who only know how to work to get a 4.0. damn i worked so hard to maintain my gpa since my course load was soooooooooo heavy. i was shocked when i got a B. however, i never gave up and hoped the universities would see my potentials. i guess they just cut off those intl applicants who are not 4.0. quick and easy. good for you guys. did you ever read my well-prepared essays in your “CAREFUL review process”?

cgee you will be accepted to Cal Econ for sure man. There is no way in hell they could reject you.
