Which would you recommend, Boston University or University of Southern California for engineering? Which could I get more financial aid from?

There is no doubt that USC’s engineering is superior than BU’s…

You may get the same amount of fin aid., I guess.

That statement wouldn’t be correct for BME.

Beyond the few acknowledged engineering powerhouses, one has to be careful with blanketly labeling or “ranking” one fully accredited undergraduate engineering program as “better” or “superior” than another. For instance, what engineering discipline is a prospective engineer most interested in? Everything isn’t offered everywhere. Alternatively, some programs have a decorated past in one discipline or another. I don’t know all that much about USC and BU engineering generally, but I know from many years experience that BU has long been considered one of the originators and recognized leaders in BME (for example). So, for a student who knows they are interested in BME either for a career in BME itself, or, like for perhaps roughly 1/3 of the BME majors for an undergraduate path towards medical school, then BU engineering could very well be “just what the doctor ordered.” ;)
