Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could help me. I didn’t expect to have a many problems getting into BU or CAS but I was surprised to find out that I was not offered into the Honors program. I scanned the accepted list to look at the stats of those who got into the honors program and I admit my SAT’s scores are a bit lower 2150 but 1450 composite with a good gpa. However, I always saw that people with lower SAT scores got into the honors program as well. However, someone else at my school, with a lower gpa and approx the same SAT scores got in… i’m so confused now. I’m nearly 100% sure I want to be at BU next year so is there any way I can perhaps ask the admissions board to clarify this? Thanks

A good friend of mine got a 1470 SAT and a very high GPA, near top of her class and still didn't make the honors program in CAS. Just because the profile of those admitted to the program shows those stats doesn't mean that everyone with those stats gets in. Definitely call up the school and ask at what point you can be reconsidered for the honors program.

Does anyone have some recent feedback on the Boston University Honors Program in 2009?

just like admissions, it’s not only your stats that determine whether you get into the honors program.

I am in the BU CAS Honors program, and honestly I do not see anything that is so special about it. All I have seen so far from the program is the requirement of taking an extra class in the honors section. However, they do organize a lot of trips around the Boston area, and there are Honors program brownstones.
