Bus ride home

Some of you may already know this, but I thought I would spread the good news...

There is a bus service that leaves the campus every Fri and returns every Sun. www.tmttransport.com

they offer round trip rides to south florida through orlando for $80.

This was a bargain find for us and also my daughter feels much more comfortable traveling with fellow students instead of the usual greyhound lot.

Good luck and Go Noles!

Great information!

My son used the bus once last year and it worked out fine. It was a little late going back but much better than Greyhound and they met him at the Turnpike rest stop. The driver has a cell phone if they need to reach him. They also said they would deliver packages for pickup at the Stadium on Sunday night to Tally. I think they want you to buy your ticket in the student union on Wednesdays before the trip. They also provide special services for holidays like Spring Break.

TMT offers similar service from UCF and UF to points south.

We live in southwest Florida. I was wondering what stops are made from Tally to Miami and at what time these occur. I sent an e-mail to the bus company but have not gotten a reply.
Any info you have would be appreciated.
Thanks

From the website, it appears that it goes from Tally to Miami and back via 1-75/Florida turnpike, stopping at turnpike service plaza's in Orlando, Ft. Pierce/PSL, Pompano to drop off kids on Fri and pick up on Sunday as well. The website schedule page is a bit comfusing, but it appears it leaves Tally Fri 2pm, and leaves Miami Sun at 2pm.

Any info on Sarasota/Bradenton stops?

The bus goes down the turnpike through Orlando to Southeast Florida, not Southwest.

Our D caught the bus at the stadium - on time - at 2pm (be there at 1:30 on Fridays) and had her $80 for the round trip - CASH - in hand.

They hit traffic before Gainesville and didn't make it to the Turkey Lake Plaza in Oralndo on the FL Turnpike until almost 7pm (supposed to be there around 6), but they were safe and sound and took a 1/2 hour break before heading downto SFL.

We arrived at the turnpike to drop her off today, Sunday, at 5:30, but the bus was late from SFL and didn't get there until almost 6:30. The arrival time was supposed to be 6pm so not that late. She hopped on with about 10 others and off they went.

The schedule we received said they usually stop in G'ville both ways, then Orlando, Pompano, etc all the way to SFL.

The woman I emailed last week said they were attempting to get a Tampa route - we live in Tampa area - but they don't have it worked out yet. I have to say that I much prefer paying the $80 bucks and traveling an hour to Orlando rather than the 4 hours to Tally and hotel/gas/food, etc I'd be paying otherwise. Also, flights to and from Tally are HIGH.

I think there may also be a bus that leaves on Monday to return from SFL so check that out if your schedule permits. D has classes first thing Monday so that doesn't work for us this semester.

So, all in all a great experience and we'll definitely be using it again.
