I’ve enjoyed passing on my experience but its now crunch time for finals so I don’t expect to be posting anymore this year. Its sunnny and in the low 70s this week so I’ll study some by the river. Good luck to all the new BU students. Leave your dorm door open the first few months and try and study in lounge areas, outside, or other places where you can meet people. If you have a tough few weeks, thats normal, and it will probably pass and pretty soon you’ll love your life here.

Check ratemyprofessor.com, myspace, and live journal for tips since the quality of the professor and his/her expectations makes a huge difference. You will now be in classes with other kids that are mostly in the top 5-20% of their HS so be prepared for working harder. For your first year I would recommend asking upper classmen and checking out RMP so you don’t choose the toughest graders until you have made the adjustment. Then challenge yourself and enjoy learning. While it is competetive here it is not cut throat like other nearby colleges so you will be able to have a social life but make no mistake you will work hard here. There will be a few days where all the clubs are out recruiting from Anime to whatever so try and join. Many clubs do not require expertise. I went on one snowboarding trip and about 1 in 5 of us were first timers. Come to the FitRec Center with your floor friends and form study groups. I wish I did more of that this year.
