<p>What is the best way for my son to get from SLO to a major airport–Los Angeles are or SanFrancisco/SanJose/Oakland airports. </p>
<p>Everything I am able to figure out seems more complicated than it should be. Hopefully you all will have some better ideas than me.</p>

<p>The coast flyer bus goes from SLO to LAX. I think it’s about a four hour ride. That’s probably the best way if don’t want to fly him out of the tiny San Luis Obispo airport. Amtrack also goes that way, but I’m not sure how close it stops by the airport so if he took the train, he might have to find some way to get from the train station to the airport. LA is closer than San Fran by about 50 miles, so that would probably be a better option.</p>
<p>Have traveled out of slo everyway imaginable. The best way is out of the slo airport, expensive but easy. The train goes to LA, but then you have to catch 45 minute bus ride to
to LAX. There is also a small airport in Santa Maria which is about #
30 minutes south of slo that flies to LAX. Good Luck, that is the downside of going to college at such a beautiful, sort of remote, place.</p>
<p>We’ve been looking at the same thing. Prices change everytime I look, but it’s worth looking at Santa Barbara as a departure airport. The Coast Flyer mentioned above goes to that airport, too and for us, sometimes it’s much cheaper than going out of LAX.</p>
