I’m new here this semester. I had planned to mostly bike to class but I’ve notice next week is supposed to be nonstop thunderstorms. I saw that you can drive to the post oak mall, park there, and take a bus to campus. How long does it take to get picked up and dropped off at campus? Are there enough buses so that it’s pretty quick?

Plug in the date that you want service for. Hover your mouse over the date and the arrows to change the sates pop up. The default may show today (Sunday), for which not all on campus buses may run and you won’t see the routes. Also, there is an app for your phone. When running, can watch the buses in real time, where they are on the route.
You will have to make your plans of what time to catch the Mall bus and what time the next bus you need to catch for on campus leaves its stops. Here are the bus routes. If you click “All”, (for both on campus and off campus) it will show you the paths of every bus route.
If you park at the mall, you will take the off campus bus #27 Ring Dance and it takes you to Trigon. This link shows you at what time it leaves the mall and arrives at its timed stops.

From there, on campus Route #1 Bon Fire, picks up at Trigon. Check it out to see if it takes you where you want to go. The diamond shapes are timed stops. If you click on them, it gives more details. The circle stops are where the bus will stop if you pull the rope, before you get to the stop, so the driver knows someone wants off. http://transport.tamu.edu/BusRoutes/Routes.aspx?r=01
Route 3 will take you to west campus but you will have to walk to another stop to catch it.

Route 4 will take you to the engineering side http://transport.tamu.edu/BusRoutes/Routes.aspx?r=04
You can click on the bus icon at the top of the page to see other routes. Familiarize yourself with the routes and and it becomes easier.
