Business Admin major: Is double majoring in Econ worth it?

Hi, I’m currently a sophomore here and if I get into the Haas Business School here, I have to make a decision whether to double major with economics. The only reason I would want to do so would be to improve my career prospects. I’m currently looking into either accounting or investment management. I’ve heard that a good percentage of Haas students here double major in Economics, but I really don’t think it’s worth it. Here are the drawbacks I see to double majoring in Economics:

Economics is a fairly difficult major, more difficult than Business. Taking upper-division Econ classes along with my Business classes would certainly impact my GPA for both majors. I think that having a higher GPA is better than having 2 majors on my resume.

The Economics major would require me to take 6 upper division classes. The time that these classes take could possible be used for a work study job, or an internship at a firm in San Fran.

Does anybody have any ideas on this?

I would say that it's not worth it. Double majors in general are not worth the time, for the fact is, nobody cares. Employers don't care. Grad school adcoms don't care. You would be better off - as you said - spending your time instead pursuing an internship or other work opportunities.

business and economics complement each other well so if you find economics interesting then you should double major in it. It would be useful to have knowledge of a more theoretical subject since business is mainly an application/vocational degree. Learning more is always useful, and aside from college, there arent going to be many opportunities where you can focus on and study any subject regardless of practical application.
