-- Business admin or Business econ

hello everyone!~

im a sophomore student here at UCR, well now i cant decide whether or no to choose business admin or busines econ as my major for this coming year,
as we all know, UCR and UCB are the only UC system which offering Business admin as a major, also i heard it's pretty elective, so im just wondering becuz i been researched all of the threads obviously econ major has a bright future? or is it just a prep for MBA?
Becuase situations are differently distributed among diff states, at UCR, Business admin seems like a good major, but i just dont know should I stay with business admin or go for business econ, which one has a broad way to find a job?

My goal in future is work for 4 biggest firms,
any inputs thanks advance

Oh I know, but most of those people are my friends and they are in the business program so I thought it might help. Well good luck with the search. If you can't find the answer here hopefully my friends can help.

Well i looked it up, and if your planning to stay at UCR for your MBA, which at UCR is Masters in Bus Admin, then i would suggest staying in Bus Admin. It should better prepare you for the MBA program there. Also your GPA in your last two years is a big factor in acceptance in the MBA program, so personally i dont think it would be wise for you to change to Bus Econ, unless your very confident in your ability to maintain a stellar GPA, with new material. The MBA program is focused on Managment which Bus Admin is, so it depends on what u plan to have a career in. Bus Admin is more managment, while Econ is more into the research areas. hope this helped some ;)

don't stay at UCR for your MBA, its a waste of money. If you want to stay at UCR get your degree in accounting with a 3.5 or higher GPA and then you'll have a shot at the big four.

also, don't major in anything like marketing or management since almost everyone i know that graduated with those degrees have crappy jobs.

big 4 firms, not biggest 4 firms. Just a minor correction.

Take business economics, take accounting courses and minor in math. Boom, there you have the perfect recipe for success
