Business Administration at William and Mary?

Hey all! I was looking on W and M’s website for information on the business program and I was a bit confused. I see that they offer an MBA, but do they offer a Bachelor’s degree in business administration that I can obtain as an undergrad, or do I have to major in another area of business for my bachelor’s degree and then come back to major in business administration for my master’s?

(If that makes any sense whatsoever)

They don’t have a bachelors in business administration. Scroll down and you’ll see the concentrations they offer. Majors & Concentrations  |  William & Mary School of Business

Thanks! Looks like I’ll have to do some thinking if they don’t offer the degree I want.

W&M does have a BBA.

The degree is BBA, but I think he was asking if there is a primary major in business administration.

I’m confused. How can you get a bachelor’s of business administration, if the major isn’t business administration?

You receive a BBA degree, but your major is in one of the specialities in the link. So your degree is considered Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or whatever. If you want a business administration major you have to look at that elsewhere.

BBA is a type of bachelor’s degree, just like BS is Bachelor of Science and BA is Bachelor of Arts, etc.

The majors are under the umbrella of the degree. For example, a Bachelor of Science in Physics or a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Your degree will be a Bachelors of Business Administration. You can major, minor, or concentrate in the following areas:

Accounting
Business Analytics
Finance
Marketing
Consulting
Supply Chain Analytics
Sustainability
Management & Organizational Leadership
Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Don;t get hung up in the title, even for an MBA you typically have a concentration in a specific area. General business might be aligned with Org Leadership. If you are thinking of starting your own business than Entrepreneurship might be of interest. Look at the different requirements for each concentration and see what interests you. The nice thing is you don;t need to declare right away

That makes a lot more sense! Thanks.

You can look up the courses in a business administration major at another college and see how the coursework alligns with majors offered at W&M.

You can consider majors such as accounting, finance, supply chain, analytics, etc. as well. I suggest you take the intro classes in different areas of business (which will be required as part of the business school core curriculum) and then see what discipline interests you.
