I was wondering if getting a major in Business Administration, B.S. is too vague. I definitely want to do a business major, and I know a lot of jobs require certain degrees, but I don't want to earn an ambiguous/non-specific major that won't qualify me for some jobs.

Also, is it better to get a "Business Administration with Emphasis on _____" major as opposed to just "Business Administration"?

Why has nobody seen my post yet?

I agree that such a degree is generally too vague and you should try to major/concentrate/specialize in something more specific (ie finance, accounting).

I'm guessing that since ur asking this question, you have plenty of time to figure out your major. First off, a lot of jobs require a degree in business, so the major doesn't even matter as long as it falls within the realms of the business field. Hopefully that eases your tension a little bit while choosing your major. If you are leaning toward a field, I would go with that, as you aren't exactly deadlocking yourself in that career. If you really have no idea wha you want to do in life, but know you want to do something in the business world, I suppose business administration would be your best bet.

I am in the Business Administration program at my college with an emphasis in Management, plus I am taking as many marketing classes as I can.

If you can have a concentration in accounting. The jobs are endless in this field. You can also double concentrate. For example a lot off students who are accounting majors also do finance. It is only one more semester of classes.

Thanks to all that have helped so far! I'm now thinking about an emphasis on Marketing or Management.
