Business Administration with an emphasis in Cinematic Arts

Hey guys! Just got admitted to USC for Fall 2013 ( I'm ecstatic!), and my major of choice was Business Administration. I want to emphasize in Cinematic Arts so I will take the respective program, but I don't know that much about it other than what is written on USC's website, and its course load. Could anyone tell me anything about majoring with Business with an Emphasis in Cinematic Arts, and if possible, what kind of job prospects should I expect with such a degree.

Have you applied to the BCA program? It is a supplementary application after you’ve been admitted to Marshall. It is not an automatic acceptance as they get many more applications than there are spots.

My son is in the BCA program (a sophomore). There are a number of meeting and presentations where SC brings in outside speakers. The students who get the best opportunities are the ones who aggressively network at these events, not only with the speakers but with professors, alumni and other students. If you have specific questions I’m happy to try and answer them.

That was the program I was talking about! I have been admitted to Marshall as a Business Administration major. Where can I find the application or details about it?

It should be available online very soon if not already. If you can’t find the information, call Marshall on Monday.

Are you sure you weren’t supposed to have indicated BCA as your chosen major at time of application? Can’t say I know for sure, but that’s how I thought it worked.

“Can I still get into the BCA program if I am not a freshman?
Unfortunately, only incoming freshmen can be admitted into the program and starting any later would not allow enough time to complete all of the required business and cinema courses.”

Then again, the second bullet point on the FAQ makes it a little confusing.

“How do I inquire about being admitted to BCA prior to the start of my freshman year?
You should contact the Marshall Undergraduate Admissions office for more information.”

I’m also interested in this. Bump.

I’m a junior in HS and I’ve been really interested in this program. A few months ago I found a .pdf on the USC website with a schedule of classes taken throughout all 4 years while in the BCA program. I’ll try to find it and post it on here. I can tell you for sure that during the second semester of your sophomore year, an internship is required.

As far as jobs go, anything on the business side of the entertainment industry (ie. Agent, Manager). Even though there is no guarantee that you will even get a position as an Agent with this degree.
