Current UCI students or UCI Alumni,
How is the Business Administration program. I am a transfer admitted to it and am interested.
How is the quality of the program?
What opportunities, careers and internships, does Merage have for its students?
What are the things you like best about the program and the things you like the least?
How competitive do you believe it is against other schools or programs, like Economics or Business Economics?
And any other general comments or feedback about the program are also very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Anybody willing to give their feedback?

The biz admin program is fairly new; thus, space is limited → competitive to get into the program, or it used to be at least.

The Biz admin program isn’t really anything special imo. Companies won’t care if you’re a biz admin major or a bus econ major.

As for opportunities, careers, etc. its not like there are internships only aimed at Merage students. If you want an internship with a specific company/firm, join the club on campus that’s associated with that industry, and go to the events and get facetime.

That said, the classes you take as a bus econ/econ major vs a Biz Admin major are different.

A good thing about the biz admin major is that since there are a limited number of students in the program, you pretty much know everyone’s face & name (or most). Typical econ courses can get up to 400+ students enrolled. Management courses (upper divs) typically max out at 80 students.

Another thing, since management courses are pretty “easy”, GPA’s are inflated, which can be a good OR bad thing.
