I know that UVA has a 2 year business program while a lot of other schools have a 4 year program. Some of my closest friends say that a 4 year program is a considerable amount better than a 2 year one because you start business during your first year in college and therefore receive a more thorough business education. How valid is this statement? I know they are ranked number one for business, but if anyone can give their own input on a 4 year business school vs a 2 year one that would be great!

You end up taking exactly the same balance of courses. The AACSB sets the standards everyone follows.

Can you even say that UVA has a “2 year program”? Sure, you enter the Comm school during 3rd Year, but you are taking the pre-Comm courses in Accounting and other areas prior to your entrance, so in reality, you are still getting 3-4 years of courses in business/commerce. And like Barrons said, the standards are set by a third party.
